Technical Q&A

What happens on rainy or deeply cloudy days?
Solar panels function on light intensity, not heat. While efficiency drops to 10-25% on heavily overcast days, they still generate power. In On-grid systems, any deficit is automatically pulled from the grid (PSPCL) seamlessly. Hybrid systems can also use battery reserves.
How does the Net Metering process work with PSPCL?
We handle the entire application process. Once the system is installed, a bi-directional 'Net Meter' replaces your old meter. It records both the energy you consume and the excess you export. At the end of the billing cycle, you only pay for the 'Net' units used.
What is the difference between Mono PERC and Bifacial panels?
Mono PERC panels are high-efficiency single-sided cells. Bifacial panels can capture light from both the front and the back (reflected from the roof), potentially increasing yield by 5-15%. We recommend Bifacial for elevated structures with reflective surfaces.
Why choose a Deye Hybrid Inverter over traditional brands?
Deye is a global leader in hybrid technology. Unlike standard inverters, Deye allows for 'Zero Export' (on-grid performance without a net meter), complex battery management, and can even synchronize with diesel generators to minimize fuel consumption.
Is there any maintenance cost or effort?
Maintenance is minimal but crucial. The primary task is cleaning the panels with plain water every 10-15 days to remove dust and bird droppings, which can block sunlight. There are no moving parts to replace, so recurring costs are virtually zero.
Can I run my Air Conditioner (AC) on a 3kW or 5kW system?
Yes. A 3kW system can easily handle one 1.5-ton Inverter AC along with other home loads during the day. A 5kW system can handle 2-3 ACs simultaneously. With our hybrid logic, the system prioritizes solar power and supplements from the grid if clouds pass by.
How much roof space is required per kilowatt?
Generally, each 1kW of solar requires approximately 80-100 square feet of shadow-free area. A standard 5kW residential plant needs about 450-500 square feet. We use 3D site modeling to ensure zero shading from nearby walls or tanks.
What is the expected ROI (Return on Investment)?
In Punjab, with current electricity tariffs, most residential systems pay for themselves within 3 to 4 years. After this 'payback period,' the electricity generated is 100% free for the remainder of the system's 25-30 year lifespan.
Will the structure withstand high winds and storms?
We use Hot-Dip Galvanized (HDG) or Aluminum structures engineered to withstand wind speeds up to 150km/hr. The mounting is anchored using chemical fastners or concrete foundations to ensure absolute structural safety during North Indian storms.
Do you assist with the PM Surya Ghar Subsidy?
Absolutely. We are a registered vendor under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. We upload all necessary documents to the national portal, coordinate the inspection, and ensure the subsidy (up to ₹78,000) is credited directly to your bank account.
What is the lifespan of Lithium vs Lead Acid batteries?
Traditional Lead-Acid batteries last 3-5 years. Our premium Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries (like Deye or Trontek) offer 6,000+ cycles, lasting 10-15 years with 80% depth of discharge and much faster charging times.
What happens if I move my house?
Solar systems are modular. If you relocate, the entire system can be dismantled and re-installed at your new location. However, we recommend consulting our engineering team to ensure the new roof is suitable and to manage the PSPCL meter transfer.
